UPDATE: 2/01/2007 - COMING SOON - New "Adama" version of this kit with Landing Gear and new cockpit details.
UPDATE: 4/30/2006 - OK, got her all "Dirtied Up". I may have overdone it a bit on the red stripes with weathering, and not enough on the white surface, so I may do a little bit more.
I wanted this to look like the more current, rugged look of today's show. I'll be doing another one, very Clean, as "Husker's". Hope you like it!
UPDATE: 3/14/2006 - Well, she's basically done (Clean), so I thought I'd throw up just a few pics. I have many more coming of the build up, painting, etc., but only time
for this post right now. I'm currently working on "Dirtying the old bird up", but thought it would be nice to see her clean beforehand. (Next build up will remain clean). Couple things to notice since last time. I added the upper DRADIS display with my own custom graphics, and I painted on the BSG patch on her left shoulder, and the "VIPER" patch on her right shoulder. I also fitted the 'windows' on later, and they came out terrific. Great Templates. The ENGINE details are mostly copper telephone wire and wire-wrap for circuit boards. I'll try to get more updates soon!
UPDATE: 2/20/2006 - Geting back to work on this beauty! Finished most of the basic cockpit. Still will add a Dradis to the front. I also got the wings mounted. You'll see the inserts I made for them, then after put together, I just seamed everything up, and sanded all the wings at the match point. They look great, also mounted the laser cannon mounts. Next will be some primer on the wings, and a final overall coat on the model, then on to detailing!
UPDATE: 1/02/2006 - I'm finally getting back to this. I've completed the overall base primer, and just have some seaming to finish up around the engines. Next I'll be priming the cockpit, doing a finish primer, then a base coat. Then I'll add the wings, and hopefully get this baby finished soon! I just got the Pilot and guns, they are AMAZING!!
UPDATE: 10/09/2005 - Started basic build up.
First thing to do with this model was to clean off all the flash and extra resin build up. Most parts needed to be put on a belt sander to get everything clean
and straight for gluing. Next everything got washed thoroughly in warm, soapy water (I use 'Comet' and a toothbrush to scrub everything.) After that, I dry fit most
parts to make sure they fit correctly, and did any small adjustments at that time. I started by putting the two fuselage halves together, then seamed them up with some
extra CA glue and some sanding. I then added the rear piece and the nose, and seamed those up. I next added the side lower engine pieces, then used some 'bondo' to
fill in all the larger gaps. The pictures show one side started sanding and the other still rought
Next I started working on the seat. I added the pieces of styrene above the head rest, per some CGI pics. This is where the 'hoses' will go. Then I worked on the cockpit
console a bit. Grinded down the center console to accomodate the front panel being 'angled' towards the pilot. That's as far as I got right now!
UPDATE: 05/22/2005 - This is the beautiful resin 1/24 kit of the Mark II Colonial Viper from the new Battlestar Galactica series. This kit was
produced by Frank Cerney and Morten Moeslund. What a fantastic kit. It's about 15 1/2" long. The castings are very nice and clean, very little bubbles. It came shipped
in a 'limited edition'. ( I have #'s 12 and 13) I won't be able to start building for a while (gotta finish that Enterprise!). But I'm very excited to get
going on this wonderful model. So, stay tuned, and hopefully construction will start in a couple months!
